Is it legal for a Private Investigator to Hack?
When people think about detectives, they often think that being a detective we are above the law. Believing we have access to any data we want and this is not the case. We often receive phone calls asking for things such as hacking, phones or people’s social media accounts. Or even pinging someone’s phone location.
Here at Private Detectives Bristol we cannot do any of the above. This is highly illegal and if you are caught doing something like this you can be imprisoned. We have also noticed an increase of individuals stating they have spoken to other investigators who have told them they can do the above. If you are being told you can be provided with the above services stay well clear. This is illegal and if caught to consequences can be severe.
If you wish for a phone forensics to be conducted which is where we attempt to retrieve deleted data from a handset the only legal way to do this is if the third-party consents to their phone being analysed this would require full written consent and verbal confirmation that they are happy to do this.
If you wish to find more about our forensic services we provide please take a look at our Digital Forensics or if you wish to discuss further please call us on 01173270114
Although you may believe hacking is the only way to gain the answers we do offer various other services. Which can assist with your situation. Which are within the law please also take a look at our other services pages.
